Thankful Thursday! - Garden Goddesses

I have a beautiful friend named Haily who works in a flower shop near my apartment. After Valentines day, they had tons and tons of flowers that they were unable to sell any more, and they were all on their way to the trash . . . that is, until Haily saw the discarded decor and asked if she could just bring them home. They were surprised she would want to take the big mess, but they let her have it - and boy, am I glad they did!
This was not even HALF the flowers she got!

Last Friday, my fiends and I had a sleepover, and part of the nights festivities (well, the entirety of the nights festivities) was making Floral Crowns!!!!

I have never made floral crowns before, so it was a lot of fun!!

After a night of staying up until seven in the morning . . . we met back up Saturday afternoon to take beautiful pictures in our flowers. Because we are legit actually fairy queens.

Here are just a few of the lovely pictures taken that day . . .

 How to Make Floral Crowns
-Select a pliable, leafy stem plant to create the base wreath of the floral crown. (Make sure it is long enough and will not dry out too quickly. We used both Italian Ruscus and Isreali Ruscus)
-Fit base plant to head and tie together by wapping wire around the over lapping ends.
- Cut off any extra length off the end of the wreath, but make sure there is a good amount overlapping.

-To prepare roses, cut off rose stems closely to base of the flower
- Pull off the sepal (the leafy things at the base of the rose) so the glue can adhere better to the flower

-Preparation for different kinds of flower may vary, but you just have to be able to glue them to the wreath.
-Use hot glue to attach flowers and filler plants to the stem of the wreath. (make sure the glue is really hot, or the flowers may fall off)

And there you have it! Your very own Floral Crowns to wear on a fun, naturey adventure! I hope you enjoyed the pictures, and found this mini-tutorial a little helpful!

Fair-faring friends!
